I Resigned

Sorry guys if I wasn’t able to update my blog. I’m just so busy these past few days submitting and preparing requirements for my new work. Yes! I already submitted my resignation letter in my current work because there’s a new opportunity that came my way. The time I have spent at my previous employer has been most rewarding and I hope that my contributions to the company have been constructive. I’ll miss my friends there, for good times and bad times, through thick and thin, we’re just like partners in crime. But I know there’s always a way if we really want to see each other. I’m just hoping that I’ll also meet good people in my new work.

“I wish the company luck and continued success and as I leave, I hope that same luck would also happen to me.” This was the last sentence that I put in my resignation letter. I’m just praying that I made the right decision and I’m at the right path in achieving my goals in life.

Happy HALLOWEEN!

It's Halloween, I know the kids are so excited on what costume they will wear for trick or treating. Trick or treating is a customary practice for children on Halloween seen in many countries. Children in costumes, either in large groups or accompanied by an adult, travel from house to house in order to ask for treats such as candy or money with the question "Trick or treat?". Usually they bring a jack-o-lantern basket where they put all the candies they collected. A jack-o'-lantern (formerly also known as a Jack o' the lantern) is typically a carved pumpkin. It is associated chiefly with the holiday Halloween.

Honestly, I haven't got a chance to do a trick or treating and wear a costume. I always thought that it's only exist in other countries especially in the United States. But I found out that kids here in the Philippines do also this practice. Exclusive villages organize events like Halloween parties and trick or treating for the children. But the most important thing to do this Halloween is to visit our loved ones who already passed away. If we have no time to visit them in the cemetery at least offer them a prayers.

UAAP 3-Peat Champion

The Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles grabbed 3-peat in UAAP Season 73 finals. They sweep the finals 2-0 against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws. The defending champion ADMU outplayed the FEU in Game 1 with 23 points margin 49-72. Many expected that FEU will bounce back in Game 2; they need to win for a do or die match in Game 3. But Ateneo denies FEU of UAAP Season 73 championship title at the end of Game 2. The final score 65-62 and the Blue Eagles defended their championship title. Congratulations to Ateneo Blue Eagles and to all the participating schools for a successful UAAP Season this year.

It's PHI's Birthday

Hey guys, it's Phi's birthday today. Born September 15, 1981 and he's already 29 years of age but he doesn't look old. By the way, he's a member of the Jabbawockeez, the crew that I admired the most. He's Vietnamese and he's really an amazing dancer. One thing I remembered about him was his willingness to do everything for the fans. I also called him as "Mr. Nice Guy". On his birthday I just really wish the best for him and for the Jabbawockeez. For all the success that their experiencing right now, they still keep their feet on the ground and didn't forget to thank their fans. Hope to meet them again soon. Happy Birthday Jeff "PHI" Nguyen (",)

FIESTA

Last Saturday we celebrated our town fiesta. September 10 is the feast of San Nicolas De Tolentino our patron saint. He's known as the Patron of Holy Souls but we also called him as patron of boatmen because our town was near the Laguna lake. We believe that he guide and protect the people who's getting near the lake. As a catholic we practice this tradition every year. We prepare foods for the visitors to share the blessings we received this year and also as a sign of our gratitude. The highlight of our town fiesta is the Banhayan Festival, it is a parade where different organizations in our town wear their costumes and dance while walking on the street. Here are some photos that I took during the Banhayan Festival.

My Soaring Falcon

Just want to post the photos of my favorite UAAP player. Of course he's part of the Adamson Soaring Falcons. He plays as the pointguard of the team. He calls the play and sometimes he do the decision making where to pass and assist the ball.

By the way, he's Lester Alvarez, jersey number 5. He's good and he's really an effective point guard. I admire him for leading the team and making a nice play in every game. (",)

"One GOOD Fight"

Adamson Crowd

An avid fan of Alex Nuyles, player of Adamson Soaring Falcons

UAAP is one of the most awaited event every year in college life. UAAP stands for "University Athletic Association of the Philippines" which highlights the athletic abilities and sportmanships of the students from the participating schools. My school was one of the 8 Universities which is the Adamson University.

Adamson's First Five

Ateneo Blue Eagles

We watched the basketball game last Sunday between my Alma Mater Adamson University and Ateneo De Manila University. Big game for both schools to get the second spot for the twice to beat advantage. They also call it as "Aerial Battle" because the moniker of both schools were birds. It's between the "Ateneo Blue Eagles" and "Adamson Soaring Falcons".

Ateneo De Manila Cheering Squad

Adamson University Pep Squad

Eventhough I'm already an alumni I still supports my school in every game. I really love watching basketball live and to cheer for my school. "Win or lose it's the school we choose" I heard this from Ateneo's school hymn. I agree because you must be proud of the school you choose whatever happens.

Adamson Ayudo

Coaches of both teams and the UAAP Commissioner

Unfortunately, Falcons was defeated by the Eagles but I don't feel bad because I know that the Adamson team really did their best. Such a closed fight between the two and I might say that this is one of the good fight so far in the UAAP Season this year. We're still part of the final four and there's a possibility that we're able to face them again. But we'll make sure that this time it will be a different scenario.

During the time out

We lose but it's one hella good fight

I'll never stop supporting my school, I'll never get tired watching the basketball live and shout as loud as I can. It makes me more proud of my university while singing the school hymn after the game. I'm so proud to be an Adamsonian!

"FRIENDSHIP" Poem

"FRIENDSHIP "

Were like friends in a ship
Riding on the sea, wide so deep
To sail our endless trip
Which is our dear friendship

You're like a friend in my ship
Who's welcome to sleep in my hips
Whom I will cross my fingertips
And whom I will kiss with my lips

I'm also your friend in your ship
Whom you helped in times of limp
You've made me refrain from my weep
And you've given me secrets to keep

How I wish, this our ship
Will run and not my sink
And will still go better than a jeep
Through times of thin and thick

Remember that our friendship
Is greatest of all ships
Than other's courtship, relationship
And even enterpreneurship and titanic's ship

Maybe, there's a lot of ship
That are aiming for sea's tip
But I assure you my friend
We will first reach the end

We will face the largest waves
We will travel the widest oceans
But we will last with our ship
Coz' we have our captain, Mr. Partnership

Water will float with us
To burn each other's trust
Wind will soon blow us
We will make the current pass

So, get ready the map my friend
We will find the treasure trend
Pirates who's to you pretended
Such those enemies, I'll make you depend

Our journey starts from here
Days and nights, nothing to fear
We own the legal ticket in our ship
The only key to our friendship

This poem was made by my good friend Jenny way back in high school. I asked her if she can lend me a copy of her poem. She wrote it on a sheet of paper with her signature and gave it to me. Until now I keep it to my closet together with some highschool memorabilias. Enjoy reading this poem.(",)

POMERANIAN or SHITZU?

I'm torn between this two breed of dogs, the Pomeranian and the Shitzu. Our dogs just died last month that's why I really want to have another pet dog. But this time I like a small and cuddly puppy or a toy dog as what they called. I like them both but I need to choose one. Buying this kind of breed is not that easy because it's too expensive I really need to save up to get one. But if someone out there can give me a cute dog like this two, very much appreciated . (",)

Birthday Video for Benjamin "B-tek" Chung

Supposed to be my gift for Ben's birthday last July 29 but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it on time. So I decided to post it here in my blog. Just hoping that he might see my work while surfing the net (fingers crossed). Although I really want to make this video as amazing as the other fan-made video, I can't because making videos is not my forte. What I only did in this video was to picked pictures of Ben that I really like, put them together and then chose a song that best describe my feelings for him. Obviously, Ben is my favorite member of the Jabbawockeez and I'm so depressed that i'm not able to give him anything for his special day. I envied Dora because Ben gave him a shoutout on twitter for her dope artwork and videos. I'm just asking myself what if I was able to finish my video for Ben do I also receive a shoutout from him? Well, maybe i'll just reserve this for his next year's birthday and i'll make sure that i'll finish it on time. But i'm still praying that he sees this.

Something about Love By David Archuleta

Every night it’s all the same
You’re frozen by the phone
You wait, something’s changed
You blame yourself every day
You’d do it again
Every night

There’s something ’bout love
That breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh
It sets you free

There’s something ’bout love
That tears you up
Whoa oh oh oh
You still believe
When the world falls down like the rain
It’ll bring you to your knees
There’s something ’bout love that breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh…
But don’t give up
There’s something ’bout love

When you were young
Scared of the night
Waiting for love to come along
And make it right
Your day will come, the past is gone
So take your time
And live and let live

There’s something ’bout love
That breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh
It sets you free

There’s something ’bout love
That tears you up
Whoa oh oh oh
You still believe
When the world falls down like the rain
It’ll bring you to your knees
There’s something ’bout love that breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh…
But don’t give up
There’s something ’bout love

Don’t fight
Don’t hide
Those stars in your eyes (in your eyes)
Let em’ shine tonight
Let em’ shine tonight

Hang on
Hang in
For the ride of your life
It’s gonna be alright
Hold on tight

There’s something ’bout love
That breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh

There’s something ’bout love
That breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh
It sets you free

There’s something ’bout love
That tears you up
Whoa oh oh oh
You still believe
When the world falls down like the rain
It’ll bring you to your knees (to your knees)
There’s something ’bout love that breaks your heart
Whoa oh oh oh…
But don’t give up
There’s something ’bout love
Whoa oh oh oh..
Set’s you free
There’s something bout love
That tears you up
Whoa oh oh oh
You still believe
When the world falls down like the rain

Playing VOLLEYBALL

I always was a fan of volleyball. I love watching volleyball competition on television like the Shakey’s V-league and UAAP, of course I’m cheering for my school. This is the only sport that I know the basic rules and which I play. I learned how to play volleyball when I was in high school as part of our PE class. Same as in college, my friends and I took up volleyball class over basketball. Now, I’m chosen to be a part of the volleyball team of our group in the company. I insisted to be part of it because I know that I’m not good and I just know how to play but I don’t want to compete. But my supervisor still included me on the list. I have no choice but to accept that I’m already included. It’s been a long time since I played volleyball and in our first practice my hands and arms were sore until now. My volleyball practice sucks, did you know that I have hit two of my teammates on the head on my service and I really didn’t hit the ball correctly. Sometimes I avoid the ball because I’m afraid that I might get hit. I hope I get better on the next practice and we have only 2 weeks to practice before the competition. I have trust with my teammates and I know that they can pull it off, no need for me to be in the game and its ok with me to be a bench warmer or a cheerer. This sport really needs focus, confidence and always keep your head on the game and I’m still working on it.

Our CARAMOAN ISLANDS Escapade

June 20, 2010 we arrived at the airport at around 5:30 am earlier for our 6:45 am scheduled flight. I'm excited at the same time nervous because most of us were first time to ride an airplane.

We rode a bus going to the airplane.

Inside the airplane and i'm still nervous but happy. Our flight took for about 45 mins. going to Naga Airport

We safely arrived at Naga and time to ride a motor boat going to Caramoan Islands

One of the islands that we passed by while sailing. Most of the time of our boat trip we're asleep because we haven't sleep yet.

One of the Islands in Caramoan. I think this was the third island out of the 5 Islands we visited.

The fourth island, I love this picture

St. Michael Church in Caramoan

The popular destination for wakeboarding, the CWC

On our way home and look what I caught, a rainbow, so beautiful.
Our Caramoan Island hopping was an experience. Experiencing the beauty of the world. Experiencing the beauty of nature especially here in the Philippines. I thank God for this wonderful creation and i'm thankful that before it's too late, before everything is gone I was able to see this places.

Happy Independence Day, PHILIPPINES

Today, we Filipinos are celebrating the Philippine Independence Day. This year marks the 112th year of Philippine Independence from Spanish Government. This is an official holiday so there’s no work, no classes in the Philippines.

The declaration of Philippine Independence Day occurred on June 12, 1898 in Cavite el Viejo but now Kawit Cavite, Philippines. Filipino revolutionary head General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first Philippine President, proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War.

The declaration, however, was not recognized by the United States or Spain. The Spanish government later ceded the Philippines to the United States in the 1898 Treaty of Paris that ended the Spanish-American War.

The United States recognized Philippine independence on July 4, 1946 in the Treaty of Manila. July 4 was observed in the Philippines as Independence Day until August 4, 1964 when, upon the advice of historians and the urging of nationalists, President Diosdado Macapagal signed into law Republic Act No. 4166 designating June 12 as the country’s Independence Day. June 12 had previously been observed as Flag Day.

Every year, millions of Filipinos from all over the world gather around and celebrate this important day.

A Wealthy ILOCOS

This are the reasons why I really want to go to Ilocos so badly. Old Churches, historical houses, the streets and the Marcos mansion. This place is wealthy from its historical backgrounds, traditions, products and some known personality. We're planning to go there maybe last week of August and i'm really excited to see this beautiful structures. Again, I just grabbed this photos from my brother.
